Plug-in cars will save money at the pump, but they will also increase the demand for coal until power plants are run on renewable energy. The most environmentally friendly way to charge an electric car is with wind or solar. I wish they'd move a little faster towards that technology. Well, the technology is already there, but... it's all political.
