Greenwash Of The Week: McDonald’s Europe Logo Going Green.

Now I truly have seen it all. Until next week, I am sure. But for this week, McDonald’s is showing everyone in Europe what they think the meaning of “green” is by, get this, changing the color of their logo to green. From the Chicago Tribune:

About 100 German McDonald’s restaurants will make the change by the end of 2009, the company said in a statement Monday. Some franchises in Great Britain and France have already started using the new color scheme behind their Golden Arches.

Sure, cause it only takes a green sign to overcome the styrofoam containers, tons of paper and plastic waste, unsustainably farmed meat, and high-fructose-filled soda. Greenwash, once again, at its finest.

You have no facts or evidence to support you claim that Mcdonalds new logo is green washing. I have been doing research on them lately and have found, while their have been different disputes over styrofoam cups and other issues, Mcdonalds is making a good attempt to be green. Why cant they represent their good attempts with a logo change? I ask that you do more research on what Mcdonalds is actually doing to be green before posting biased articles.
