Do One Thing: Forget The Straw.

This week’s Do One Thing is all about those plastic straws you get every time you order a drink out anywhere. While I wish that restaurants would ask if you want a straw, most of them don’t – and they end up on the table anyway only to be thrown away whether opened or not. If they would only ask, they could save a lot of straws from being tossed! So if you have a chance and you remember, try to ask for no straw once in a while when you order a drink. I don’t do it every time, but I am trying my best to remember. Even a few less straws in the trash is a very good thing!

I make a smoothie for my husband and I every morning and I just felt terrible for having to throw away two plastic straws every day. I came across http://www.glassdharma.com, David (the owner) makes glass straws and will replace any that breaks for free. I’ve ordered twice from him and am very pleased with the glass straws. They do take a bit to get used but are well worth it.

    Interesting, thanks Kathy!

  3. Wow, I like the straws with spots, very nice!
