I found a place in Boulder, CO,(Hybrids Plus)that wants $32000 to $36000 just to convert an Escape Hybrid to plug in. I didn't pay that much for the vehicle in the first place. Ridiculous!!!!! AND I'm sure Ford would be HAPPY to void my warranty if I did it. $10,000 is a lot of money for the ability to plug in, but Prius owners have it good compared to Escape Hybrid owners like me. Although CCI says it will only void the part in which are being warranted, I would have a lawyer look at the car's warranty before making the switch to access your risks and their deep pockets.
