Do One Thing: Make Next Car Rental A Green One.
This week’s Do One Thing is about renting cars. The next time you need to rent a car while on vacation or when your own is in the shop, consider renting a hybrid Toyota Prius or Honda Civic. When we lived in Los Angeles and only owned one car, we tried to rent a hybrid as much as possible whenever we had a need for a second car. The daily cost was not that much more than any other compact car, but you get the benefit of A. reducing your driving emissions and B. saving money on gasoline costs. While not every car rental company has hybrid cars (just call them up and ask), the company EVRental is available in a bunch of different cities, so you might find one near you.
