Great common sense article. Some ideas are able to transcend politics (and even science) and you've hit the proverbial nail on the head with this one.

Great post.

I'm actually one of those people who is a little skeptical of global warming. I'm glad you wrote this, because you're right. It doesn't even matter if you believe the Earth is getting warmer or not. It is still very obvious that we've been doing a horrible job of caring for the Earth and living sustainably.

You don't have to believe in global warming to try to live greener. We should all be doing it!

Definitely agree. While I'm happy that climate change is getting a lot of attention in the media (and some attention by the presidential candidates), I haven't seen much attention focused on the "planet cleaning" we need. Also, climate change is often bandied about as something we need to address to solve the "energy crisis", not just because we should be good stewards of the planet. But hopefully all in good time. And hopefully climate change will be a trigger to a broader discussion. In the meantime, acting at the grassroots level (and in the voting booth) will certainly help. And also talking to friends, family, etc. not just about climate change but also about the general environmental degradation taking place (overfishing, species loss, habitat destruction, plastic waste, etc.).
