Quick Green Reads For The Weekend Volume Sixty Three.

Courtesy of No Impact Man, I found out about a petition over at Take Back the Filter, started by Beth Terry of Fake Plastic Fish, that aims to make Brita take back their water filters and reuse them. I did not know Brita was owned by Clorox; I am glad I use PUR filters instead as I don’t like supporting companies like Clorox for anything.

The volumes of the Greenland Ice Sheet and ice in the Arctic Ocean were estimated at 2.9 million and 4.4 million cubic metres respectively in September 2007 - the lowest ever levels recorded, the organization said Wednesday.
Ever heard of a “solar shaver“? Me neither…interesting concept though!

Thank you for alerting me to the Take Back the Filter campaign. We have used a Brita pitcher for years and I didn’t know they were owned by Clorox. Do you know who owns PUR? Thanks again. Mari

I had the same question as Mari so I went to their website–they are owned by Procter & Gamble. No better or worse a company than Clorox I should think. (Though some might say worse since I believe it is far, far larger.)

They probably are not any better AnnMarie, but as long as they are not Clorox, I am happy about buying them over Brita!
