Quick Green Reads For The Weekend Volume Fifty Seven.

Next week we will be spending some time yurting up in Northern California. What’s a yurt? It’s like a tent but with running water and furniture inside it. Want to learn a little more about them? Check out Pacific Yurts - they have some good info there. I have tried to fill the schedule out next week with articles, so hopefully everything will work out ok while we are away! If you try to contact me and I don’t respond it’s because where I am going is off the grid and there are no phones, television or even internet access. On to some articles that caught my eye this past week…

Alarmed by new scientific data showing a continued increase in the melting of the world’s glaciers due to global warming, top UN environmental officials are making fresh calls for a new international agreement to cap greenhouse gas emissions.

Adam from LifeGoggles tries to ride The Magic Wheel. Have no idea what that is? I didn’t either, but check out the video.

Tiny Choices talks about something we all have to deal with at some point…E-Waste.

Grist answers a reader’s question about if it is better to burn or recycle their waste paper.

A new study tested over 1200 children’s products still found on store shelves and found that 35 percent contain lead - including Hannah Montana toys. Fantastic.

And while you are here, I wanted to introduce you to a few friends of mine. I was invited to join a network of blogs called “The Life Skills Network” and you can see our new shiny badge over in my sidebar there. As it stands right now, we have several different writers discussing things from investing to the environment to motivation to frugality - and hopefully we all combine to offer different tips and advice on improving your life in different ways. Just wanted to give you a heads up as I will be linking to them occasionally, and I hope you like some of what they have to say. If you have a few minutes, check out some articles from these guys:
