How To Find A Green Builder Or Contractor In Your Area.
Yesterday, I got an email from a reader named Lisa who asked:
“I am going to be adding an addition to my house in the next year or so and I wanted to look into green contractors/architects to help me plan the new addition. I live in NJ and I can’t find any comprehensive list of any green architects/builders in my area. Can you help me?”
I emailed her back directly but I figured I should put the information up here as well in case anyone else had a similar situation! Here are the sites I came up with that should be able to point you in the direction of a green builder or contractor in your area:
- U.S. Green Building Council
- Build It Green
- Greener Choices
- Green Builder
And for those of you in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York (coming this Spring), you might want to check out the green business directory Greenopia, which as of now is only available for those few cities. If you are gonna remodel, you might as well do it green!
