Quick Green Reads For The Weekend Volume Thirty Three.

After last weekend’s tour of LA to all the different fairs, this weekend we are taking it easy. The crowds are gone and we are going to enjoy these last few weekends of sunny warm weather before it gets cold out. On that note, I’m outta here and here are some stories that caught my eye this week.

The Amazonian wilderness is at risk of unprecedented damage from an ambitious plan to improve transport, communications and power generation in the region, and could be lost in 40 years.

A favorite new blog of mine is Green as a Thistle, which documents one woman’s goal of doing just one green thing a day for a year. Smart, funny and ambitious. On October 1 she adopted a turkey. Funny, no? Keep up the great work, love reading about your daily “greening”!

Ocean Power Delivery, a Scotland-based company, has just announced that they will be installing the world’s first commercial wave farm off the coast of Portugal.

It’s not just Angelina Jolie trying to save the world…turns out Brad Pitt wants to help too. He and Steve Bing are planning a new 150-home community in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward.

And from the department of “Wow, big surprise” comes this: The President’s global warming meeting amounts to nothing. Of course not, why do anything?

Hope you have a great weekend!
