California Going Through Driest Year On Record.

Hear ye fellow Californians…if you happen to have noticed that we did not get much rain this year, you are not alone. It seems we are going through our driest year on record while other parts of the country are battling floods. (Global Warming anyone?) Our own local water sources would supply water for 3 million residents they say, but there is a problem with that…there are 18 million of us living here.

“Only 3.2 inches of rain have fallen in downtown Los Angeles in the first six months of the year, less than a quarter of the average between January and June, and a hot summer of short showers is forecast.”

So if you live here, please take heed and watch your water usage. It’s bad enough we all live in a desert; we need to start watching how and when we use our water. For some tips on conservation, see my earlier post about ways to save water.
