Caught The Sneak Peek Of THE GREEN Last Night, Looks Promising.

Because I have Tivo, (no, I don’t know how they relate, but hey…) I got an of episode of the new series of a series “The Green” to show up on my Tivo box last night. I guess I must have signed up for it, but I don’t really remember doing so. Anyways, The Green is on the Sundance Channel that is all about greening; building, clothing, shopping, recycling, etc. It is incredibly well done (no amateurs here), and last night’s show was “Big Ideas For A Small Planet” and it was about green building.
Of course they talked to Michelle Kaufmann (Glidehouse, Breezehouse), my absolute favorite prefab builder/designer, along with a guy building green low-income housing in NY, and some guy that wants us all to live in trees that have been molded to create shelter. This last one was killing us as we were watching the show, and we saw it as the reason that people make fun of people that care about the environment – they think we want to live in trees, thus we are a bunch of weirdos. Honestly, they should have left that part out, it is kind of bizarre and not really helpful to the movement.
There are three different series within The Green – “Big Ideas For A Small Planet”, “Ecobiz”, and “Ecoists”. Check out the website over at the Sundance channel and be sure to check out all the shows when they air. I cannot wait to see all the episodes, if last night’s show is any indication of how they are going to be.
Oh, and you can download the first episode from the iTunes store for free for a while, in case you want to see it now. They have a link up over at the Sundance Channel, near the top.
