2006/07 Is Warmest Winter On Record Since 1880

Whoo-hoo, we did it! We have accomplished what we have all dreamed of…a warm winter! According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (that’s NOAA to you cool kids), this winter has been the warmest SINCE THEY STARTED KEEPING TRACK OF IT.

Yes, that long. Out of these last 100 years, 2006/2007 has had the warmest winter on record. No, global warming is not real. I mean, just because temperatures are going up steadily every year, the years continue to get drier and hotter, and then our winters keep getting warmer, that doesn’t mean anything, right?

Wrong. Even if you do not believe that global warming is going to wipe us out, the fact remains…the earth is warming up. Do you really want to find out if it is just a trend? I sure as hell don’t.

Oh, and according to CNN:
“Over the past century, global surface temperatures have increased by about 0.11 degree F per decade, but the rate of increase has been three times larger since 1976 — around 0.32 degree F per decade, with some of the biggest temperature rises in the high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere.”

Whether you think we are causing it, elephants are causing it, or leprechauns are causing it, the world is getting warmer. The question is, what are you going to do about it?
